MOROZOV
After graduating from the Russian State Institute of Theatre Arts — GITIS in Moscow, Sergej Morozov worked as the assistant director (AD) in the Novaya Opera Theatre. He was collaborated with such remarkable artists as Arno Bernard, Oliver Mears, Dmitry Bertman, Georgy Isaakyan, Igor Ushakov, Hartmut Schörghofer, Jan Latham-Koenig, Dmitry Jurovsky and Fabio Mastrangelo. In 2016 he studied as stage designer in British higher school of art and design, curators — Galya Solodovnikova and Polina Bakhtina.
Sergej pays special attention to contemporary music in theatre and works with different composers and performers. Among them one can name Dmitry Kurliandsky, Sergej Nevski, Kirill Shirokov, Kirill Chernegin, Andrey Besogonov, Elizaveta Sanicheva, Antony Svetlichny, Natalia Pshenichnikova, Kristian Kesten, Shelley Hirsch. Sergej Morozov collaborates with the vocal theatre «La Gol» as co-director and performer.
As a curator Sergej produced performances in NCCA, Gary Tatintsian Gallery, Gallery Belyaevo, Gallery Kashirka, Sidur Musium Moscow, Gallary AZ, Darwin Museum Moscow, Gallery Shabolovka. The last curator’s project is «Constitution» in Meyerhold Center Moscow.
In 2017 Sergej produced opera «Arianna in Nasso» in Kammeroper Wien in collaboration with Ksenia Peretrukhina and Alexey Lobanov. Sergej was a initiator and producer of «Diet Mountain Due» exhibition in the foyer of the theatre (curator — Andrey Parshikov)
Sergej Morozov and his partner Sasha Alekseeva are the team - finalist of the prestigious international competition Ring Award’17. The team presented its own version of the first act of Donizetti’s «Don Pasquale» in Schauspielhaus, Graz in June 2017. Apart from this Sergej is the prize-winner of The State Grand for Creative Youth curated by The State Theatrical Union in 2014, the winner of The ZIL Competition of Creative Project in 2013 and the finalist of II International Competition for Young Opera Directors Nano-Opera in 2015.
